what is the suis-g  fishing rodeo? ​ in the summer of 2012, we had just returned from a fishing trip and two of our favorite regulars, tim & will, seemed really excited about fishing and asked if we would go with them sometime.

we love to fish, and thought maybe other customers, friends and our crew may also be interested.  voila - the fishing rodeo was born!!!  as of 2016 we have now had 4 rodeos and each one has been a blast!

how does it work?  it's free to enter, and we give away gift certificates for the overall champion (most fish by weight); king of trout (largest trout); king of redfish (largest redfish); and strangest catch (who knows?). everybody who enters gets a free fish dinner the wednesday after we return.

where is it?  grand ilse, louisiana.  this is a surf fishing rodeo, so we fish from the beaches, shorelines and docks of grand isle.  if you haven't been to grand isle, that alone is worth checking out because it is a unique part of the louisiana coast.  the rodeo is usually on a sunday and monday, so most people stay overnight - usually at the cajun holiday hotel, which we consider our home-base.  

what if you don't know how to fish?   no problem!  we will teach you how.  plus, you may even get a filet lesson.  

what you need:  fishing rod - fishing license - transportation - hotel if you stay overnight.​
